TRIGGERS: Would it piss off a knight who took his/her job seriously? Then Agrias would probably be a little bugged by it, at least. That said, she's not uptight. She won't come down on someone for having a drink or cussing a blue streak. Showing disrespect to royalty, knights, or soldiers will provoke a cool response. And while she's fine with someone being surprised or shocked to meet a female knight, she's not fine with being told women have no business with knighthood; she'll put the ice in those blue eyes to good use.

COMBAT PROWESS: Agrias has mastered all five techniques of the Holy Sword, the Ivalician Holy Knight discipline; she can channel holy energy through the blade of a sword (and only a sword) and direct it in "blasts" within a certain range. She also specialized in White Magic spellcraft to serve as a medic for her allies during emergencies. Beyond these abilities, she is a young, athletic woman who is extremely well-versed in swordplay, and is slightly better at predicting and evading physical attacks than most of her allies.

MENTAL STATE: Brave and loyal, with a steadfast sense of justice and a strong code of honor. Not one to fawn, but will treat royalty and fellow knights/soldiers with great respect and courtesy. Disgusted by thievery, cowardice, and opportunism. Owing to her battles against the Lucavi - the demonic hierarchy of her world - and growing up in a realm where dragons and minotaurs are megafauna rather than myth, Agrias is quite willing to accept the appearance of supernatural beings. She is less willing to accept any claim or boast that these beings cannot be harmed or slain.

TELEPATHY/MINDREADING: Sure. Let's just talk it over before you go psychically rewiring her mind to make her think she's an alcoholic penguin with a job in custodial service.

FOURTH-WALLING: Not unthinkable! Agrias would respond with some permutation of blinks, puzzled frowns, and a tilted head to someone who claims she's a character in a story, especially given the medium she "appears" in.

» CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character NAME: Agrias Oaks
Canon & MEDIUM: Final Fantasy Tactics (video game, 1997)
Canon PULL-POINT: Chapter 4, en route to the final battle at the Graveyard of Airships
Character AGE: 24
Character ABILITIES: Agrias is a baptized Holy Knight of the Glabados Church, a class of knight that specializes in channeling holy energy through swords and directing them at an enemy with five signature strokes of the blade. These manifest visually as "energy swords", blasts of holy power that resemble enormous blades phasing in and out of existence. Agrias can inflict them upon one or multiple enemies, depending on her position. Despite being able to cause mystical effects, the strokes themselves are not magical, calling on some other, unknown power to register as physical damage. (In the interest of creative limitation, she probably won't be able to spam the Holy Sword without exhausting herself, and will conduct most of her battles with swordplay.)

Even without her Holy Sword techniques, Agrias is a strong, agile woman in her prime, and an accomplished swordswoman who can handle herself with or without a shield. She's fought in all conditions of weather, lighting, and terrain. She's fought wounded, poisoned, outnumbered, and alone. And despite hailing from a Middle Ages setting, she's even gone up against gunfighters and the occasional robot.

Agrias mastered the arts of White Magic during her journeys with Ramza and can serve as a magical healer, able to heal wounds ranging from minimal to life-threatening. However, the effectiveness of her magic is conditioned on the personal faith of both herself and the person she's trying to heal. Essentially, the magic is less effective on someone who doesn't believe it can help (or harm) them.

Her mental composure as a warrior is also worth mention. Agrias has seen, fought, and killed not only other people, but ghosts, the undead, and archdemons out of myth and legend. She's not likely to panic in the face of even the most supernatural threat, and will engage it with confidence that it can be killed.

Character HISTORY: A Holy Knight of the royal guard of Ivalice, Agrias was the sworn sword of Princess Ovelia Atkascha and, later, a stalwart ally of Ramza Beoulve during his journey to uncover the truth behind the War of the Lions.

Now won't you join me on a journey for the truth? )
